Good Morning,

Our next meeting will be this Wednesday, July 1, at 10:30 at the Family Life Center at First Baptist Church. I hope you can come. I have attached a preliminary agenda at the bottom of this email. This is the first time I've tried to attach a Word file. I hope it works. If you have changes to the agenda please email me.

A volunteer and I watered the downtown plants and replaced some dead ones on Saturday. I had intended to weed the Discovery Garden yesterday, but was rained out. Hopefully, I can make it there today.

Good Afternoon,

Our next meeting will be on July 1 at 10:30 at the Family Life Center at First Baptist Church. We will be working on a contest to encourage more volunteers to help us water.

I watered our downtown plants Monday and will water again today. I also weeded the Discovery Garden. Texas Star Hibiscus is about seven feet tall with beautiful red blooms. Firebush has taken off and will be blooming soon.

Here is another Best Idea courtesy of America in Bloom from Echo, OR. It relates to tidiness.

Good Morning,

Looks like we dodged Tropical Storm Bill.

I think I finally have email working at our new web site, columbiablooms.org. There's still much to be done with the site if you have ideas please reply to this email. I think the reply will get to me even though I'm sending it through the web site instead of directly through gmail.

I finally finished weeding the Discovery Garden yesterday. It is weed free! See my latest blog post at https://westcolumbiadiscoverygarden.wordpress.com/.

After struggling for three days to fix a bug in our new web site (columbiablooms.org) I finally fixed it yesterday evening. It had to do with uploading images. I’m really enjoying exercising my brain with this project. The site is still under construction. I plan on working on the Contact Us feature and the login features today.

Good Morning,

We need more volunteers to water the downtown window boxes and planters. We have all the equipment and can show you how to water. It takes about an hour to water. Please, please email me if you can help. Click the Calendar link at columbiablooms.org to see which dates are taken. I watered yesterday. If I had waited until the next scheduled volunteer (on the 6th) I fear that we would have lost plants.

Good Morning,

We need your help watering the plants downtown. We have a brand new water wagon that will make it easy. It should take 1-2 hours. I have attached watering guidelines.

We have a new system in place where we are asking volunteers to water on the same day each month. So far the 2nd, 6th, 10th and 30th are taken. If you can help, please email me at sam.stamport@gmail.com. We need you! One-on-one training will be provided.

Good Morning,

I hope that you are doing well and that the floods have not affected you. Stay safe. Most of us were very fortunate that we did not experience the flooding that our neighbors in Houston experienced.
